“Space tourism is still a long way off, but it’s not hard to imagine that someday tourists will visit the natural geological landmarks of other worlds much like they tour the Grand Canyon, Mount Everest or Ayers Rock. Each of these great tourist destinations needs a classic retro travel poster to entice visitors.
Until the day people settle off world and make their own destinations, many of these may be the places that people will want to travel to. I hope that these posters can inspire people to think beyond our world to the limitless possibilities of the Universe.”
Such is the vision of Ron Guyatt, a designer and illustrator from Toronto, Canada. Inspired by his appreciation of the Art Deco and Retro Futurism aesthetic, and his love of science fiction, he created an epic series of 60 posters under the title Space Destinations.
I’ve shared one of the posters below (of course, of course it had to be Enceladus) but I strongly encourage you to see all of them either on the page of Ron’s design agency Fabled, or each separately in his DeviantArt gallery.
